McAvoy thanks wife for self-belief
James McAvoy has thanked wife Anne-Marie Duff for teaching him to believe in himself in the early days of his career.

The Starter For Ten actor said he felt like a "fraud" at drama school and in his first acting roles, but his relationship provided stability when he found himself struggling.

The 28-year-old said: "I felt a bit of a fraud because I always felt I'd fallen into acting. I was only doing it because someone had given me a job. For others it was their vocation. I felt I was lying to myself about what I wanted in life.

"It was Anne-Marie who taught me how to respect life and it took my career to a whole new level."

The couple met on the set of hit show Shameless and married in 2006.
