Zac Efron: 'I'm not as cool as people think'

Zac Efron has admitted that he is not as "cool" as his High School Musical reputation suggests.

The 19-year-old actor, who plays popular basketball player Troy Bolton in the made-for-TV movie, insisted that he was a model student at school.

He told the Daily Mirror: "I'm not as cool as people seem to think. I wasn't a nerd exactly, but I stuck in at school and got good grades.

"I think I manage to stay quite humble, though. It's hard to have a normal life because I get recognised. It's a daily occurrence, but I'm cool with that."
