Courtney Love has told Steve Coogan to leave Hollywood, insisting that she is right to blame the British actor for the suicide attempt of Owen Wilson.

Coogan threatened the singer with legal action yesterday after she accused the star of being to blame for Wilson's personal problems.

Talking about the Saxondale actor, she told The Sun: "Hopefully the guy will leave us alone in this town and go back to Brighton or wherever the hell he's from...and stay there."

Responding to the legal threats made by Coogan, Love commented: "There's nothing illegal or wrong with saying that someone's a bad influence.

"If someone wants to do drugs they can do drugs, if someone wants to have all the sex in the world they can have all the sex in the world - I don't care.

"But if it starts to get to the place where it hurts people around them, and the numbers are astonishing of who it hurts. But it starts to get to the place where it hurts people around them, and the numbers are astonishing of who it hurts."

The Hole singer added: "He's not even known over here. No one knows who the guy is. He has bit parts in movies - that's what he does."
