Theron hooked on 'Deal Or No Deal' game

Actress Charlize Theron is addicted to the videogame of TV show Deal Or No Deal, a director has claimed.

The Monster star played the game of the US version of the show incessantly while filming her latest movie In The Valley Of Elah.

Paul Haggis said: "I went to Charlize's trailer to talk to her about a scene, and I heard these really strange sounds inside. I heard [presenter] Howie Mandel's voice. Inside the trailer, she was playing Deal Or No Deal."

He recalled that the actress was holding out for more money in the game, saying: "It went on to $300,000, and I was like, 'Charlize, take the money, it's $300,000.' It got to $600,000, $700,000. I was screaming at the top of my lungs, 'Take the money! Take the money! Take the money!' And she was saying, 'No, no.' She was addicted to the show."

Haggis revealed that during breaks from filming the drama, Theron would tell him she had to prepare, adding: "And she'd go back and they'd be playing Deal Or No Deal."
