Winehouse 'trashes hotel suite'

Singer Amy Winehouse caused £9,000 of damage to a hotel suite with her husband last week, say reports.

The singer, who missed out on winning the Mercury Music Prize on Tuesday night, allegedly smeared blood over the bathroom walls and smashed a table in her room.

According to the Sunday Mirror the star spent £400 at the bar before causing the damage to the Sanderson hotel's property.

A hotel staff member commented: "The in-house cleaners were totally shocked when they entered the room. I've certainly never seen anything like it before. They had to get an outside firm to clean blood off the walls and then there was a hefty paint job."
