Blunt takes criticism on chin

James Blunt has claimed he is happy to take criticism from people because he has the "best job in the world".

The '1973' singer even suggested that he possibly deserved some of the abuse he receives from the press and public.

Blunt told GQ: "I probably deserve a bit of a kicking. And having been to boarding school I've learnt to enjoy a good beating."

The pop star insisted that polls, which suggested he was more annoying to the general public than traffic wardens, brown nosers, loud mobile phone users and Abi Titmuss, don't get to him.

The ex-army officer said: "I don't take the comments seriously. I've the best job in the world. I've spent the past two-and-a-half years touring with a band and it's been brilliant. Touring is the best invention of all time, so if I have to suffer a little bit of payback for having all this fun, then so be it."
