Doherty to manage celeb football team?

TV producers have reportedly approached troubled singer Pete Doherty to manage his own celebrity football team for a new show.

The Babyshambles frontman, who is a fan of football team QPR, has been asked to head up a team called 'Doherty FC' that will then compete against other celebrity teams.

A source revealed: "Pete needs something to get him on the straight and narrow. He loves football, so this could be just the tonic."

Doherty has already been approached to appear in other TV shows, such as taking part in The Weakest Link and appearing as a zombie in a Dr Who spin-off show. But he has reportedly turned down both offers.
