Spears, Federline hold emergency meeting

Britney Spears held an emergency meeting with her ex-husband Kevin Federline on Wednesday after she asked him to discuss their custody battle over their two sons.

The singer met up with her former partner on youngest son Jayden James' first birthday in a bid to resolve their issues before they have to appear in court on Monday.

The pair, meeting at the LA offices of Spears' lawyer Laura Wasser, arrived separately. Federline was accompanied by lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan.

Reports claim that the meeting did not go as Spears had hoped, as Federline rejected her proposals.

A source said: "Britney asked for (the meeting). She wants to put an end to this public debacle. However, Kevin (has) refused. He needs more money so he's determined to win this."

But another source, close to Federline, told People: "He's not going for additional child support in the court papers that were filed. It's not about the money."
