Madden confirms Richie marriage plans

Rocker Joel Madden has confirmed that he is planning to marry Nicole Richie in the near future.

The Good Charlotte singer revealed that he was "really happy" and "in love" with The Simple Life star, during an interview on US radio with Ryan Seacrest.

Madden told the American Idol host: "I don’t know when or where or how, but right now our priority is our family and is the baby. That’s all we’ve been thinking about. We are in love and are really happy."

Talking about becoming a dad for the first time, Madden said: "We are all really excited about it. It’s the best thing that has ever happened to us. It’s awesome."
