Britney at the MTV VMAs
A Britney Spears fan who became a media sensation when a tear-filled clip of him talking about his idol was broadcast on YouTube has been offered his own TV deal.
The teenager, known as Chris Crocker, was watched over eight million times when he recorded a two-minute video after critics slammed Spears' MTV Video Music Awards performance earlier this month.
In the video, the openly gay 19-year-old had mascara running down his face as he shouted: "Her song is called 'Gimme More', cause all you people want is more, more, more, more, more - you're lucky she even performed for you b******s!"
Crocker has since been asked to appear on TV networks across America, including CNN, Fox News, the Howard Stern Show and MSNBC, while Variety reports that TV company 44 Blue Productions has now approached him to be in his own reality show.
Talking about his new exposure, Crocker told Salon Online: "It's kind of a whirlwind tour for me. I feel like I'm getting more exposure than Britney."
He had already built up a fan base by uploading a number of videos on various topics onto his MySpace page.
