Thornton 'feels sorry' for ex-wife Jolie

Billy Bob Thornton has revealed that he feels sorry for his ex-wife Angelina Jolie and her new partner Brad Pitt, because of the amount of media attention surrounding them on a daily basis.

Thornton initiated divorce proceedings five years ago citing "irreconcilable differences", but he has since seen her celebrity grow with her relationship to Jennifer Aniston's ex.

He said: "I do feel sorry for Angie and Brad. The only time you hear about me is when I've got a movie coming out and I like it like that. They have to cope with it all the time."

The 52-year-old admitted that he is still a close friend of his former partner and he has also been friends with Pitt, who is to produce his next movie Peace Like A River, "for years".
