Reality TV romances: When the bubble bursts

Big Brother lovebirds Chanelle and Ziggy are rumoured to have hit the rocks less than a month after being reunited at the show's finale. Glamour model Jordan and singer Peter André steamed up the jungle on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! in 2004 and married the following year. As well as having two children together, they have recorded a hit duets album and filmed a series of documentaries following their every move. The lovers are never far from the headlines, with Jordan recently comparing their bedroom antics to a horror film.

Helen “I love blinking, I do” Adams and Paul Clarke captivated viewers with their slow-burning romance on the second series of Big Brother, despite the fact that Adams was dating boyfriend "Big G" when she entered the house. The couple moved in together when the series ended but split in 2006 after five years, saying they got on better as friends.

Sparks flew between Syed Ahmed and Michelle Dewberry while they battled it out on The Apprentice in 2006. Dewberry won the show, but her triumph was short-lived when news that she was pregnant began swirling around the tabloids. The affair ended when she miscarried, and she later quit her £100,000 job with Sir Alan Sugar to go it alone. Ahmed was most recently seen trying to flog his "revolutionary" body-dryer on Sky One documentary Syed Ahmed - Hot Air.

Presenter Abi Titmuss and ex-footballer Lee Sharpe turned up the heat on Celebrity Love Island two years ago, with the Man Utd star gushing: "I fancy the a**e off you” as they kissed for the first time. Although rumoured to be planning a beach wedding, the pair split amid allegations that Sharpe had cheated with a shop worker. They reunited months later, but Sharpe was soon playing away again and the lovers called it quits.

Housemates Tom McDermott and Claire Strutton failed to set the world alight in the first series of Big Brother in 2000, but Claire said he grew on her "like a rash" after calling to offer advice when she was booted out of the house. They soon had baby Pierce and moved to Marbella, but went their separate ways in 2005.
