Jason recalls Kylie romance

Jason Donovan's upcoming autobiography will recall his relationship with Kylie Minogue.

It is one of many revelations from the star in the book which is currently being serialised in the Daily Mirror.

He recalls how they got together while away filming with Neighbours in Sydney.

Donovan adds: "Kylie was my first proper girlfriend and my first real love affair. In our first months together I think we both felt like we were walking on air and we hated being apart.

"It wasn't enough that we spent 12 hours a day together at the studio, we wanted to spend every waking hour together. We were inseparable."

He also remembers being dumped by Minogue for rock singer Michael Hutchence: "There is little point in trying to recount the whole conversation because all I can remember, and could hear at the time, were the words 'It's over'.

"It was like a punch in the stomach. I know that I tried to reason with her, tried to get her to change her mind, but she wasn't having any of it. She had made her decision and it was final."
