Hip-hop star The Game has pleaded not guilty to firearm charges in a Los Angeles court.

The US rapper was accused of possessing a firearm, making criminal threats and exhibiting a weapon at a place for minors.

The charges related to an incident in February, where the musician allegedly pulled a gun at a basketball match at Rita Walters Educational Complex.

At an earlier hearing Rodrick Shannon claimed that the Grammy-nominated star punched him following a verbal exchange, before grabbing a gun from the car park.

Police reports claim that the rap star, real name Jayceon Terrell Taylor, threatened to shoot Shannon.

Earlier this month, Taylor was arrested for impersonating a police officer by a New York judge, but was told the charges would be dropped if he didn't commit any further offences in the next six months.
