Sutherland 'still on DUI probation'

Kiefer Sutherland was still on probation from a 2004 conviction when he was arrested for drink driving yesterday morning, it has been revealed.

The 24 actor was pulled over by police in LA after attending a party celebrating the Fox network's autumn season.

Sutherland, 40, was found to be at twice the alcohol limit after making an illegal U-turn in the road. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and spent three hours in prison before being freed on £12,500 bail.

A misdemeanor DUI count carries a maximum sentence of a year in jail, but the actor could also face a charge of violating probation following a similar arrest in November 2004.

Paris Hilton was jailed for 23 days for violating probation earlier this year.

Sutherland is scheduled to appear in court on October 16.
