Kerry Katona is still pregnant with her fourth child, despite being told she had suffered a miscarriage.
The I’m A Celebrity... winner checked herself into hospital in Cheshire on Tuesday, telling family and friends she had lost the child five weeks into her pregnancy. However, doctors examined her and discovered that there was still a heartbeat.
Her agent Max Clifford said in a statement: "Kerry went back into hospital for a medical procedure [on Tuesday]. However, after a blood test revealed surprising results - that her pregnancy hormones had gone up, not down - Kerry was taken for a second scan and was shown her baby's 3mm heartbeat.
"It has transpired that Kerry is only five weeks pregnant, not seven-eight weeks, which is why the scan was not clear and coupled with bleeding, led to her being diagnosed with having a miscarriage.
"She is still at risk of complications - however, she and Mark are ecstatic that she is still pregnant with their baby."
Katona discovered that she was pregnant last week after being admitted to hospital wth a mystery illness. She told OK! magazine of her fears that she would miscarry, saying she had been bleeding heavily for several days.
