Beckham rushes to see dad in hospital

David Beckham has rushed back to England to visit his father in hospital after he suffered from a reported heart attack.

Ted Beckham was taken by ambulance to Whipps Cross Hospital in Leytonstone in London last night after he complained about having chest pains at his home in Chingford.

The Sun reports that he suffered a heart attack and had to be resuscitated en route to the hospital. He was then transferred to an alternative hospital in the early hours of this morning.

The LA Galaxy footballer boarded a flight for London from Los Angeles airport last night and is said to be due to arrive at Heathrow at lunchtime today so that he can go straight to visit his dad.

Whipps Cross hospital has not confirmed whether Ted, whose real name is also David, had been transferred and did not comment on his illness, saying: "We have got a patient in hospital who is very unwell."

A spokesperson for London NHS Trust said: "We are not in a position to confirm or deny anything at the moment."
