Kasabian singer buys 'ET' memorabilia

Kasabian singer Tom Meighan has purchased the famous BMX bike ridden in the iconic scene in the movie ET.

According to The Sun, Meighan is fanatical about the Steven Spielberg film and tracked down the owner of the bike in his home town of Leicester.

The rocker reportedly spent £10,000 on the memorabilia and is keen to buy some more.

A source commented: "Tom has a real childlike quality about him and his eyes light up at the merest mention of any childhood nostalgia. Star Wars, ET and Superman movies are his favourites.

"He could write a university dissertation on who the best superhero is out of Spider-Man, Batman and Superman."

The insider added: "He found out about the BMX bike through the band’s tour manager. It took a while but he got his hands on it this week.

"It will take pride of place in his apartment and he’ll be riding it - with his ET model in the basket."
