Helen Mirren reveals nudist past

Helen Mirren has revealed that she used to enjoy spending time on nudist beaches.

The Prime Suspect actress has confessed to being a fan of stripping off in communal situations.

Mirren told the Daily Express: "I am a nudist at heart. I have been on many nudist beaches. It is amazing how quickly feelings of self-consciousness disappear.

"Of course, it only works if everyone else is naked, too."

The Oscar-winner added that she wouldn't turn down further films roles which require her to go naked either.

She said: "I have never said 'never again' to nudity and I am not going to."
