Michael Douglas has revealed that golf and crosswords were behind his attraction to wife Catherine Zeta-Jones.

The actor claimed that he knew Zeta-Jones was the woman for him because of their mutual love of puzzles.

He told the Daily Express: "We share the same birthday. We both like golf. We both like to do the crossword puzzle. We both love news."

Talking about their other shared interests, he added: "Neither of us is a big movie fan. We like making movies but we do have to make an effort to watch them. We're big on kids' movies, though."

The couple married in 2000 and have a seven-year-old son, Dylan, and a daughter, four-year-old Carys.
