Foxx to host National Movie Awards?

'Collateral'

Actor Jamie Foxx has reportedly said he would like to host next year's National Movie Awards.

The Collateral star was apparently so impressed by the ceremony held at the Royal Festival Hall on Friday that he emailed organisers asking whether he could present the show.

A source told The Sun: "Jamie said there was an amazing atmosphere. When he came on stage to present the best action/adventure award to Casino Royale he really milked it and got a huge response from the audience.

"Jamie had a ball and was really impressed by the turnout after meeting huge British names like Dame Judi, Helen Mirren and the Harry Potter cast."

They added: "He’s desperate to host it next year and spent the weekend drafting an email to the organisers explaining why he’d be so good at it."

An event insider confirmed that they would consider Foxx for the job, commenting: "Jamie is such a huge name in the States, we’re hoping he’ll encourage other big names to come along. This could turn into the British version of the Oscars."
