Kid Rock wishes that he had punched Tommy Lee harder during their fight at the MTV VMAs.

The 'Cowboy' singer admitted that he wasn't the toughest fighter, but regrets not hurting the Motley Crue drummer more with his punches.

Rock told Rolling Stone: "I don't got big guns, but I know how to throw a punch. If I knew how much press this was going to get, I would've come back with a left."

Explaining the reasons behind the fight, the rock star argued that Tommy Lee had left him with no other option but to confront him physically.

He commented: "I was like, 'That's it!' He knows how much he has disrespected me through the years, and I'd told him he had it coming.

"I was left with no choice. I was going to be a bitch or be a man. And I'm not a bitch. Never have been."
