Death at Doherty party case to reopen

An investigation into the death of a man attending the same party as Pete Doherty is being reopened.

Marc Blanco was at a party at a flat in east London last December when he fell from the second floor and died.

The Babyshambles frontman was interviewed as a witness, although he is said to have left the party before the incident took place.

Police concluded at the end of the initial investigation that there had been no third-party involvement in the death.

But yesterday Dr Andrew Reid, who is the coroner in Blanco's inquest, asked for the evidence to be re-examined after an open verdict was recorded.

He claimed that they could not say for certain that there had not been any outside involvement because they have not got "satisfactory inferences" from CCTV footage.

A spokesperson from Scotland Yard revealed it would "now review the investigation".
