Wilson makes first public appearance

Owen Wilson has made his first public appearance since he tried to commit suicide six weeks ago.

The Wedding Crashers actor was reportedly found with cut wrists and having taken an overdose of drugs at his Santa Monica home in August. He has kept a low profile ever since to try to recover.

Wilson cancelled his scheduled appearance at the world premiere of his new film The Darjeeling Limited at the Venice Film Festival, but he showed up this week at the US premiere.

Director Wes Anderson said of the actor: "I've never made a movie without him and I hope I never have to."
