Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills will meet up at a secret hearing this week to try to reach an agreed divorce settlement.
A one-day hearing in front of a High Court judge will be held between the estranged couple and their lawyers on either Wednesday or Thursday so that they can decide on a financial settlement, rather than take the case to a public hearing.
Mills could walk away with anything from £30 million to £50 million, which would be received as a lump sum plus annual payments to go to their daughter Beatrice.
It is believed that McCartney has offered around £20 million to his ex-wife, and Mills is expected to have asked for up to £50 million.
Reports claim an estimated £25 to £30 million will be agreed at the meeting which is to be held at a secret location to try to avoid the media.
A source said: "This case ought to settle. It is absolutely straightforward."
