Jamelia engaged to footballer boyfriend

Jamelia has announced her engagement to her footballer boyfriend and father to her daughter, Darren Byfield.

The Bristol City player surprised the 'Superstar' singer by getting down on one knee and asking her to marry him in front of their family and friends. He proposed during a surprise birthday celebration that Jamelia had organised for him.

The singer has been dating Byfield for three years, with a brief break in the summer, and they have a two-year-old daughter called Tiani. She also has another six-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.

The 26-year-old said of the news: "I'm completely over the moon. Darren proposing was a real surprise but I'm totally delighted. I can't stop smiling!"
