Rock star Jack Peñate has launched an attack on the UK's hoodie culture.
Peñate says that he suffered various attacks from gangs of youths as a teenager, and claims that he would like to inspire kids to live a more pacifist lifestyle.
The singer told the Daily Star: "I was mugged a lot. I just seemed to attract violence.
"A lot of my friends ended up being d**ks, intimidating people in hoodies. I stayed in, listened to music and had mini festivals in my garden.”
Talking about the new crop of UK-based singer-songwriters, he added: "We’re part of a new generation of young Brits with opinions and something positive to say, rather than using aggression."
