Pavarotti died $24 million in debt
Opera star Luciano Pavarotti was $24 million in debt when he died earlier this year, according to reports.

The Italian music legend, who died from pancreatic cancer at the age of 71 last month, reportedly had a $14 million overdraft and owed over $10 million in mortgage repayments to his bank in Bologna.

Pavarotti is believed to have left $400 million in his will, causing his second wife Nicoletta Mantovani and his three children to argue over what belonged to them.

It is thought the tenor's finances from his estate will be divided between his daughters and Mantovani.

Italian newspaper La Republica reported: "There was no fortune of £200 million and so there will be no family squabbles".
