This week's celebrity birthdays

In the 15 weeks that we've been sending birthday presents to celebrities, we've been horribly, embarrassingly, depressingly unadventurous. In fact, we've pretty much stuck to the British tradition of sending a card, buying a cake and singing 'Happy Birthday'. However, in the name of cultural awareness, we recently decided to investigate the ways in which other nations celebrate birthdays. Sadly, the results weren't very inspiring. Does Julia Roberts really want to have her earlobes pulled in the Argentinian tradition? Does Kelly Osbourne deserve to be paraded around in a garlanded chair, as is customary in Israel? And does Caprice really want to be treated to the supposed US ritual known as "birthday spanks"? Actually, on second thoughts…

How many candles? The Brummy broadcaster celebrates her 31st birthday on Tuesday.

DS' birthday present: Cat's recently moved to LA to further her US TV career, so we've sent her a care parcel containing all her British favourites: a box of PG Tips, a packet of digestive biscuits, a copy of the Radio Times, a bag of Jelly Tots and a lovely tin of spam.

Caprice

How many candles? The glamour girl-turned-businesswoman turns 36 on Wednesday.

DS' birthday present: It must be a while since Caprice caught up with her CBB chums, so we've ransacked our contacts book to organise a reunion meal. Sadly, only one housemate replied, but we're sure Caprice will be delighted to dine à deux with John McCririck.

How many candles? The formerly mullet-sporting DJ celebrates his 46th birthday on Thursday.

DS' birthday present: We've conjured up a present that will thrill the nation's students almost as it much as it pleases Pat: Fun House is coming back! Now, does anyone happen to have Melanie and Martina's phone numbers?

Kelly Osbourne

How many candles? Ozzy's potty-mouthed daughter turns 23 on Saturday.

DS' birthday present: Kelly's just begun hosting Sunday Surgery, Radio 1's teen advice show, so we've sent her down to the Samaritan's to hone her listening skills. Don't forget your notepad, Kel!

Julia Roberts

How many candles? The Oscar-winning actress enters her fifth decade on Sunday.

DS' birthday present: Julia's popped out three sprogs in as many years, so we're guessing her life isn't filled with peace and tranquility at the moment. With that in mind, we've packed her bags, hired a child-minder, and sent the stressed-out mum to a health spa for the weekend.
