Witherspoon and Gyllenhaal back together?

Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal have once more fuelled rumours that they are dating after being spotted holding hands in Rome.

The pair became close on the set of new movie Rendition in March, but split in June because Witherspoon wanted to spend more time with her two children.

The 31-year-old, whose divorce from Ryan Phillippe was finalised this month, has repeatedly denied any romance.

Gyllenhaal also dismissed the claims by announcing that he is single during a recent television interview.

But rumours of a relationship have persisted since the couple were seen on a number of "secret dates" earlier this year.
