Spears 'Sesame Street' rumours quashed

Rumours that Britney Spears is to appear in Sesame Street have been quashed by the show's producers.

Earlier this week a report in the Daily Star claimed that the popstar was going to sing a version of her single 'Toxic' with Oscar The Grouch on the long-running children's TV series.

However, Ray Hammerman, a representative for the show, told Wikinews that the rumours were "not true, there are no plans to have her on as a guest".

Sesame Workshop Vice President Ellen Lewis added: "There are no plans to have Britney on the show. We are not even in production right now."
