A controversial picture owned by Sir Elton John was found to not be an indecent image yesterday.
The photo, taken by Nan Goldin, caused outrage when it was included in an exhibition at the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead last month.
Police were alerted to the image by the owners of the gallery after they became worried that the picture showing two young girls dancing, one naked, could be in breach of child pornography laws.
The picture was then investigated, but a statement from the Crown Prosecution Service claimed that there was not enough evidence to justify charges of possession or distribution of an indecent image.
