Claim: Kyle had 'fling' with schoolgirl

Jeremy Kyle had a fling with a 16-year-old girl, a report has claimed.

The host's solicitor has denied the claims made by a friend of the schoolgirl, Becky Hayes, who is now a local radio DJ.

The unnamed friend told The News of the World that Kyle struck up the relationship when Hayes was on work experience with him at Birmingham radio station BRMB.

Hayes allegedly told the source: "Jeremy was in a position of trust but totally abused it. He took advantage of me. He was 35 at the time and I was busy at school studying for my GCSEs. He just cashed in on the fact I was so star-struck.

"He told me he could get me into radio and I thought he was amazing. I was in awe. But he only wanted me for one thing - and that was sex. What he did was wrong, very wrong."

Kyle allegedly flirted with the girl by phone, kissed her and groped her.

Hayes is now a DJ at Hallam FM in Sheffield.

In a statement to the paper, Kyle's solicitor denied the claims: "We are instructed that our client's sole contacts with Ms Hayes occurred more than six years ago, and were by telephone only.

"Our client never met Ms Hayes and only spoke to her on the telephone during a period of months before he was married to his wife."
