Beyoncé cancels gig over safety fears

Beyoncé Knowles has cancelled a planned concert in Turkey over fears for her safety were raised and as a mark of respect.

The singer was due to perform at the Istanbul soccer club Fenerbahce but she pulled out after 12 Turkish soldiers were killed in a Kurdish rebel attack.

A statement from the club said: "We share our nation's grief. We are cancelling our 100th anniversary concert."
