Cruise praises 'great' wife Katie Holmes

Tom Cruise has praised his wife Katie Holmes, claiming she is a "great artist and great woman".

The actor gushed over Holmes's acting abilities and insisted that their married life was perfect because she makes him laugh.

Cruise said during an interview for Entertainment Tonight: "I feel so lucky. I have so much respect for her as an artist, and as a great woman. She is a very strong and gracious woman. And Katie is very funny - a really great comedian.

"My married life is all very good, all very lovely."
