Spears 'forgets birth control pills'

Britney Spears frequently forgets to take birth control tablets, a friend has revealed.

The singer - whose new album Blackout was released this week - was receiving Depo Provera injections, but switched to tablets in a bid to lose weight.

She reportedly suffered a miscarriage at the beginning of the year, but continues to forget to take the contraceptives.

An insider told Life&Style: "She's constantly forgetting where she put them. She seems to find it amusing - she laughs at how scattered she is."

Spears has also been taking a mild prescription stimulant, Provigil, which can decrease the effectiveness of birth control pills.

The friend added that Spears has "hooked up" with both friend Sam Lufti and music producer JR Rotem, saying: “When her friends ask if she’s being safe, Britney says it’s just casual sex. She seems to think that just because she isn’t in a formal relationship, she’s somehow immune to getting pregnant.”
