Pete Doherty and his Babyshambles bandmates have been praised for their behaviour at the MTV European Music Awards.

A source who was in charge of looking after the band at the event revealed that he was surprised by their "sweet" attitude and impeccable manners.

"They're without doubt the best and easiest band I've ever had to organise and work with in five years of doing the MTV EMAs," he told the Daily Star. "Everybody said they were going to be a nightmare, but they were incredibly sweet and punctual. So much so that Pete was even early for rehearsals and kept coming up to me saying: 'What do you want me to do next?' They've been a delight - I love them."

Commenting on rumours that Pete came to blows with Snoop Dogg at the event, the organiser said: "It's utter b******s. I've been with them all of the time and nobody's got a bad word to say about them. They've made so many new friends at the awards - including Snoop."
