Bloom feels "lucky" after car crash

Orlando Bloom has said he feels "lucky" to be alive after escaping a car crash unhurt.

The actor swerved and hit a parked car as he was being chased by four paparazzi after visiting an LA nightclub last month. He was left unscathed, but one of his passengers suffered a fractured neck and another required hospital treatment for minor injuries.

Bloom told Larry King: "It wasn't a very pleasant situation. But yeah, it is all being resolved. And thankfully, you know, everyone involved is safe and making a swift recovery. The police and emergency services came remarkably quickly, we were very lucky. Very lucky indeed."

The 30-year-old was later cleared of attempting a "hit and run" after paparazzi videos of the incident showed him walking away from the scene.

An official report into the accident said there was no evidence of drink-driving or any wrongdoing, and no charges would be pressed.
