Doherty filmed injecting heroin

Pete Doherty has allegedly been filmed taking heroin, hours after vowing that he is clean and sober.

According to The Sun, the footage was shot on a mobile phone at his home in Wiltshire after he returned from Friday's MTV Europe Music Awards in Munich.

The Babyshambles frontman is seen crouching on the floor preparing what is thought to be heroin, before injecting it into his right arm. The green band from the previous night's ceremony is visible on his left wrist.

A source told the newspaper: "It's not the first time he's injected since he was supposed to have gone clean. He may have got clean through rehab, but as soon as the temptation is put in front of him, he cannot help himself. It's so sad to see. He's been given so many chances and so many fresh starts and he just throws them all away."

The previous evening, he had told NME that he was drug-free, although he admitted that he was "in mourning" for his heroin addiction.

Last week, Doherty avoided jail after admitting possession of heroin, crack cocaine, ketamine and cannabis, as well as driving without insurance or MOT. He was given a two-year suspended prison sentence, an 18-month supervision order and a 12-month drug rehabilitation order.
