Witherspoon struggles with single life

Reese Witherspoon has confessed that she is finding life as a single working mother "agonising".

The actress - who split from ex-husband Ryan Phillippe last year - is struggling to balance her career with caring for eight-year-old Ava and Deacon, four.

She said: "The next film I'm about to do is the first full movie I've done in two and a half years, because it's hard with small children.

"I do feel torn, it's agony. Any mother or father will know it's so hard to deal with just the guilt of leaving your kids. I'm trying to work close to my house and my home so my kids can stay in school and we can have a nice, stable life."

Witherspoon, 31, is rumoured to be dating her Rendition co-star Jake Gyllenhaal.
