P Diddy not facing charges over fight

P Diddy has been told he will not face any charges after he reportedly punched a man in the face during a brawl at a New York nightclub.

The 31-year-old accuser claimed the rapper, real name Sean Combs, argued with him over a woman and then hit him in the face at the Upstairs Bar.

But because the accuser gave differing accounts of the alleged attack and was uncooperative with law enforcement, prosecutors were unable to prove any criminal charges.

Diddy's attorney, Benjamin Brafman, explained the incident as two 'acquaintances' who had known each other for 12 years having a disagreement. He said: "Both Mr Combs and I are pleased that the DA's office and the police department conducted a very thorough investigation and came to this conclusion."

No civil charges are expected and the case has now been closed.
