Babyshambles warned about Pete video

Babyshambles have revealed that they were warned about the video footage showing Pete Doherty injecting himself with heroin at his home last week.

The singer was shamed after the mobile phone footage was made public, just hours after he had vowed to give up drugs.

Basist Drew McConnell has revealed that they were told of the images, and stuck up for Doherty over his relapse.

McConnell told NME: "We heard they (The Sun) were going to run a picture the day before, but I assumed it was going to be dug-up old footage.

"When you've just come out of rehab and trying to stay clean with all your might, then some c*** comes round your house with a bag of stuff and a camera phone, it must be hard to stop yourself."

Doherty has since apologised for taking drugs again and insisted that he would voluntarily go back to rehab to help him beat his addictions.
