Spears' mum takes blame for daughter

Britney Spears' mum has taken responsibility for her daughter's recent troubles.

Lynne Spears claims that it is only natural she blames herself and admits she should have spent more time taking care of Britney when she was touring the world.

She told Life & Style magazine: "I blame myself. What mother wouldn't?

"I wish I'd been there more while she was touring, but I couldn't be. I had the other kids to look after.

"I didn't raise my children to have Hollywood careers. This all just exploded in my face, and big dreams became big headaches."

Lynne is in the process of writing a memoir about her difficulties in raising a famous family called Pop Culture Mum: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World, which is due to be released next May.
