Mills parts company with divorce lawyers

Heather Mills has parted ways with the lawyers that have been representing her during her ongoing divorce battle with Sir Paul McCartney.

A spokeswoman from law firm Mishcon de Reya announced: "We are not representing her anymore". No reason has been given for the separation.

The news comes after a busy week for Mills, which has seen her launch a media campaign in which she has made outbursts about Sir Paul and the way the media have been treating her.

Last week she claimed that she had felt suicidal and that she had tapes of McCartney admitting to hitting his former wife Linda, during UK and US appearances.

Her latest media appearance on GMTV yesterday morning saw her reveal that she had found the press campaign "cathartic".

Mills said during the interview: "It’s the difference between being in prison and being on parole. That’s the situation at the moment. 18 months of the worse press ever and I’ve got the chance to protect myself and defend myself and my daughter."

She claimed that McCartney had not spoken out about any of her public rants and that relations were "civil" between them for their daughter Beatrice.
