Spears puts paparazzo in hospital

Britney Spears has reportedly caused the hospitalisation of a paparazzo after knocking him off his motorcycle with her car.

The troubled singer was trying to get away from a group of paparazzi near the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles on Monday night when the incident occurred.

The victim, believed to be a 'spotter' that notifies photographers of celebrities' whereabouts, was immediately taken to the nearby Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre, according to TMZ. His present condition is unclear.

It is not the first time that Spears' driving has come under scrutiny. Last month she drove over another paparazzo's foot and was also involved in a reported hit-and-run incident in August, but the case was later dropped.

At the beginning of last month she pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanour charge of driving without a valid California driver's permit and has since obtained a temporary one.
