Kanye drops out of show over mum's death

Kanye West has decided to drop out of the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show tonight because of his mother's sudden death last week.

The rapper's mum Donda West died in LA on Saturday after complications following cosmetic surgery. West has since pulled out of the annual show, which will see the Spice Girls perform a warm-up gig to their world tour.

The event, which is taking place at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre, is due to be aired on US TV in December. CBS spokesman Chris Finnegan told the Associated Press: "We're just trying to be as sensitive as possible to everyone involved."

Speaking about their performance tonight, Spice Girl Mel C said: "We're going to be performing one of our old songs and one of our new songs, 'Headlines', and it's going to be very beautiful.

"We're hoping to get ourselves into some Victoria's Secret underwear for the show."
