Russell Brand apologises for stealing mail

Russell Brand has apologised for stealing mail when he worked as a postman.

The comedian and TV presenter regularly took other people's packages throughout his stint in the job, but he has blamed being addicted to drugs for his behaviour.

"I nicked some letters and I'd like to apologise," he explained. "I stole CDs and birthday cards too. I was on drugs - you can't blame me!"

Brand admitted that he took the job because he wanted to satisfy his sex addiction, but the reality of life as a postman did not match his expectations.

"I was definitely anticipating a lot more sex," he said. "But no-one opened that door and went, 'Do you want to come in?'"
