Uma stalker: 'We're meant to be together'

Uma Thurman's stalker, Jackson Jordan, has told police that he and the actress were "meant to be together".

The 37-year-old admitted that he fell in love with the Kill Bill star, saying: "Years ago, I saw Uma Thurman in a movie and our eyes connected. I could see she was making contact with me. Over the years my attraction to her grew.

"We are meant to be together. She is a wonderful person."

Jordan once tried to break into Thurman's trailer on a film set and bombarded her and her family with emails about his love for her.

He was arrested last month in his car, in which he had been camping outside Thurman's house in Manhattan. He is facing charges of harassment and stalking, as well as felony coercion for threatening to kill himself if he saw her with another man.

During a court hearing on Friday, Jordan told the judge: "I plead guilty. I mean, I plead not guilty."

His defence lawyer George Vomvolakis claimed the charge of coercion was "a stretch", saying: "Mr. Jordan should not be prosecuted to a higher degree because the victim is a public figure."

The judge refused to lower Jordon's $10,000 bail and put him back in jail.
