Mills suggests drinking rats' milk

Heather Mills has proposed the nation starts drinking rats' milk to help the environment.

Paul McCartney's ex-wife made the suggestion during a speech at Speaker's Corner in London's Hyde Park.

Mills claimed that the public's consumption of meat and dairy products was damaging the environment and that by drinking the milk of rats, cats and dogs, the country would be more eco-friendly.

She told the audience: "There are fields and fields of grain just miles from starving children in Africa, being shipped to Europe to feed our livestock.

"There are 25 alternative milks available in health shops and supermarkets. Why do we not drink rats' milk, cats' milk or dogs' milk?"

The environmental campaigner told the Press Association: "It's mad that we are having cows' milk. Even cows don't drink it after one year but we continue forever."
