Arctic Turner crashes Texas birthday bash

Arctic Monkey Alex Turner gatecrashed the 40th birthday of Texas singer Sharleen Spiteri, say reports.

According to the Mirror, the frontman drank "the bar dry" and then initially refused to sign an autograph for Spiteri, claiming he didn't know who she was.

An onlooker commented: "Poor Sharleen looked absolutely mortified.

"She had plucked up the courage to go over to him for the autograph. She told him she was the lead singer in a band and was a massive fan of the Monkeys.

"She said she had been making music since before he was born. Alex just shrugged and Sharleen kept saying how much of a massive fan she was.

"She said it was her birthday party and it would make her night if he could do it for her."

Turner eventually signed the autograph for the veteran rocker, after being told who she was by his friends.
